Vivien Thomas was a laboratory technician who developed the procedure to treat the Blue Baby Syndrome with a man named Alfred Blalock. Blue Baby Syndrome was a very deadly disease during the 1940s that killed many babies. Thomas worked with Blalock for many years, and both of them mane many discoveries and helped each other. When Vivien finished putting the final touches on the procedure, Blalock was called to perform the surgery on a baby, and the surgery was a success.
