My topic is about Vittorio Orlando. Orlando was born in 1860 in Palermo, Sicily. Well educated, he became a professor of law and in 1916, and is also renowned for his 100+ writings on legal and judicial issues. He entered government as Minister of Justice. During the height of the Caporetto disaster, he was appointed Prime Minister. However, more favorably, his wartime leadership ended in triumph with the Italian victory at Vittorio Veneto in 1917. In 1917 he was an Italian Prime Minister, and in 1919 he resigned from office because he felt his political position was undermined by his apparent failure to secure Italian interests. Orlando’s unexpected negative treatment at Versailles led to the end of his political

The selection process of this project was that of a difficult one, however, one historical figure stood out like a white elephant because there was little attention attracted to him. Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States, was an interesting topic because his legacy was tainted post-presidency, but the lingering question was why his presidency was a failure, and why he should be considered the worst president of all time. This topic did have some competition, however, another option that was captivating was, the Red Scare. It was an interesting topic because it had the potential to be a fun project, because it would have been an easy cause and effect essay. Ultimately, however, it came down to originality and challenge of the essay, and Warren G. Harding’s presidency fit the mold.…

Describe the impact of three significant political events in Rome from the Punic Wars through the reign of Constantine. (You should pull single events, not movements, from across the time frame. The most significant factor leading to the collapse of Mussolini's fascist regime, however, was the military failures of the Second World War, in particular, Mussolini's narcissistic desire to fulfill the cult of Il Duce, as so demonstrated in his appointment of himself as the minister for all three armed services and the commander of the armed forces in the field. Mussolini's obsession over his own prestige, stretching himself too thin in appointing himself as almost all military leadership roles with no advisors as well as the Head of Government, lead to both the negligence of the war economy and the poor decision making that fueled Italy's failure in war, thus leading to a weak Italy, both in the sense of the economically and militarily, resulting in the collapse of the fascist regime in…

Machiavelli wrote his Discourses on Livy in 1517, as a response to the Roman historian Livy, in which he goes in depth about his take on republican ideals, including the guardianship of liberty, the effects of religion on the state, and the danger of conspiracies against the sovereign. He argues about who should be responsible for guarding the liberty of the republic, whether or not this power should reside with the people or the noble classes, using the political structure of ancient Rome and of Venice as evidence for his theories. In chapter 12, Machiavelli elaborates on the causes of the disunity of the Italian state, and why religion is responsible for this, being that the Church is both to weak to hold supreme hold over Italy and yet too…

My topic is over The Oregon Trail, it was a 2,200-mile east-west trail that served as a critical transportation route for emigrants traveling from Missouri to Oregon and other points west during the mid-1800s. Travelers were inspired by dreams of gold and rich farmlands, but they were also motivated by difficult economic times in the east and the diseases like yellow fever and malaria that were decimating the Midwest around 1836. The Oregon Trail began in St. Louis, Missouri, in early spring to begin the four- to six-month trek. This would be the last big city most would visit. Settlers loaded wagons and supplies onto steamships to travel 200 miles upstream on the Missouri River, departing when the river began heading north.…

angas In 1513, the Italian diplomat, writer, and philosopher Niccoló Machiavelli released his political treatise titled De Principatibus, or The Prince. His book not only formed the basis for political science and is considered one of the first works of modern philosophy, but also stressed many ideas that remain controversial in modern day politics. One of the more prominent ideas in Machiavelli’s masterpiece is that the ends of one’s actions justify how they got there. This idea that someone’s accomplishments rationalize how they got there has been present in both film and literature for hundreds of years.…

Niccolò Machiavelli spent a large majority of his aristocratic platform defaming the many intrinsic characteristics of human emotion and experience. He consciously ignored the essential acts of care and compassion while promoting a message of fear and hate. His teachings offered detailed instructions on the succession and maintenance of a fear-abiding society encapsulated by submission. His philosophy stated that the best interest of the general public was to irrefutably follow the rule of law. To Machiavelli, a human life could be explained as an expendable resource, awaiting its designated task to serve the ruling class.…

This was the compare and contrast essay and I felt like I did pretty bad on it to begin with. One problem was the two weeks leading up to when it was due i had been working full time and also had two 24 hour clinicals ( meaning literally staying 24 hours at a fire station). So, this took a lot of the free time I had with the other essay and turned it into me writing at approximately three in the morning. One positive is that I always do a recursive writing process, my honors teacher in high school was really into it so it has always been a habit.…
