Some of the things that Vitruvius wrote about in De Architectura libri decem were inaccurate and some of the most important ancient Greek infrastructure was not acknowledged. In Vitruvius and the Origins of the Orders, the author, George L. Hersey writes, “[Vitruvius] ignored important buildings of his own time (the first century A.D.) and incorrectly described Greek buildings he had apparently not seen.” This depicts some of the limits within De Architectura libri decem and shows that it did not have every crucial structure to Vitruvius’s time. It is also important to note that Vitruvius’s language and style of writing was very confusing to be translated to future texts which would affect the way it is interpreted. Since De Architectura libri decem was the only book of Vitruvius’s discovered, it is not known if he had any other works of literature or his specific architectural work. This should be acknowledged since some of his greatest work may not be known today. These small limitations to Vitruvius need to be remembered, but they cannot ultimately take away from his large contributions on architecture throughout
