It's easy to disregard the consequences when you're distracted by the simple thing that you desire. The cosmetic industry has proven itself to be very sought-after. This industry, specifically makes one hundred and sixty million dollars annually! However, part of the process of doing so has created a controversy worldwide. Everyday thousands of innocent animals are experiencing excruciating toxicity tests and chemical treatments. This is one of the many repulsive secrets cosmetic manufacturers are concealing. Animal testing comes at a pretty penny, ranging anywhere from hundreds to even thousands of dollars. During the time of these procedures, small animals suffer for weeks, even months, while scientist study the inhumane effects of the chemicals. Cosmetic manufacturers have the option of using non-animal testing, but do not because it is convenient for them. Such manufacturing companies tend to forget that their committing animal cruelty on a daily basis. Vitro testing is a program that replicates the human cell to predict the various ways that new chemicals would react when in contact with the human body. Companies jumped to the opportunity to make these ‘chips’ available as products that can be purchased by manufacturers to be used in place of animals. This is an innovative method, showing dependable results that animal testing cannot always provide. As far as the budget, vitro testing comes at a fraction of the cost of animal testing. One of the greatest advantages supported by this program is that it is one hundred percent cruelty free. This gives great hopes that eventually, vitro testing and other alternatives will one day replace animal testing and the disturbing happenings related to the
