Although it is not my belief that children often learn more by being charged as an adult and receiving a harsher penalty, many more courtrooms every day are doing just that in hopes of decreasing their crime rates, especially in violent crimes. Many times a child will misbehave or act out because of underlying issues, that behavior should not go unnoticed or untreated; however, it is unfair for a youth whom is not of age to legally drive a vehicle, be impacted by a punishment that could last the rest of their life.
