In my visual rhetorical assignment, I feel I did a great job on describing how pathos had a huge influence on the tactic Extra gum used for their commercial I chose. For example, in my paper, I mentioned plenty of times on how Extra gum used romance to reel in their audience with emotion. How it could relate to many different types of people in recent relationships, old relationships, or even single people. I did not feel like I needed to change this topic just because it was really important to know how Extra gum used it. I feel like describing pathos is something that I find easy to talk about. Originally, I had wanted to make the paper more on the details of the commercial that were used to sell their product, but I ended up focusing more on pathos. In addition, I had mentioned in the previous paragraph that pathos was used a lot throughout the commercial. Moreover, I have had received criticism on is my transitioning in previous papers. As much as I try and make valid points, my transition to my next paragraph or sentences aren’t always as smooth as I would like them to be. Knowing that I am not the best at transitioning, I looked up key words for transitioning and believe that my visual rhetorical assignment has better transitioning then my previous papers. I am not fully comfortable with transitioning, but I will get used to the words and incorporate them more in future papers. Lastly, one thing I did not change was my commas. Although I do use quite a few commas, I find them necessary. I do not agree with the criticism I receive about the number of commas I use because I believe that is just my style of writing. Everyone has their own type of writing, mine just involves more commas; where I believe are needed. Furthermore, I am comfortable with the number of commas I tend to use in my papers.
