Visual Representation

For my visual representation, I added pictures to a map of the world to exemplify how I want to change the world. One of the ways I see the world is filled with compassion, and one way I want to add compassion to our world is by volunteering with my church and, ironically, with a group called compassion, in Chadirac, Haiti. I want to spread love to the children and city I help sponsor, and help the children know they are wanted. Another way I see the world is more sustainable, which is one of the reasons I left my hometown of St. Louis to come here, so I could help the environment and become part of an environmentally friendly community. These values have been drawn from how I spend my time and what I like to do. I have been a Christian for about six years now, and Christianity is where I draw my values from, since it shapes all my actions. My value of service stems from serving at my church, but has only grown as I have aged and found more opportunities to serve. This is directly related to my value of faith which began when I fully devoted myself to my God. In Christianity, you are supposed to constantly make yourself more Christ-like everyday, which is difficult, but ultimately good for one’s self. This is the importance of my value of faith, but it has also caused my value of kindness/love. The bible says that you should love everyone you encounter, since it is the only way to really by Christlike. As the alchemist says, “When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” Loving others is the most important trait to me because it shows acceptance of others for who they
