The use of visual images is an advocacy strategy used in the blog.24 An example of a visual image used in the blog is a generalised image of a man giving emotional support to another man juxtaposed with bold text ‘Helping those behind’ and ‘your family expert’. This emphasises on the important role of friends and family in preventing male suicide and motivates readers to actively think about their role in suicide prevention. The use of narratives is another advocacy strategy used in the blog24. One blog post started with a short narrative about an Australian year 12 male student who committed suicide before sitting his final exams. This narrative was intentionally used to establish a connection with teenage readers in the 15-19 age group; hence, …show more content…
We both respected each other’s opinions and were open to changes in the group assignment. In the global health and social justice project, I had a role as a decision pusher as I decided what health issue our group was going to focus on. I am also a trouble-shooter as I check if the sources on the blog have been referenced properly while my group member edits the writing style of our blog posts. We both contributed equally to the group assignments.

Our group planned tasks by using Facebook messenger. Every week we will communicate using Facebook messenger to check the progress of the group assignments. This ensured we finish the group assignments on time.

Whenever there were different opinions, both my group member and I were flexible and compromised when needed to reach an agreement. I found it very effective to problem solve by mutual discussion with my group member as it allows us to brainstorm more solutions.

My group member gave constructive feedback in a positive and respectful manner, which has helped us work well together. When I gave constructive feedback to my group member I also tried to be as positive as

The main challenge of this group situation is that there was a sudden rise of conflict among members at the beginning to mid phase of the project. This resulted the possible development of groupthink (Janis, 2008). As a leader in this situation, I would firstly feel lousy and disappointed in myself that I didn’t take note of group’s division and how the meeting could be more inclusive of everyone’s opinion (Chadha, 2016). However, at that point, I would also probably feel confused but yet curious as to why it was suddenly voiced out, hence thought that I should facilitate to explicit the thoughts and feelings of each member to better understand as well.…

Image Analysis of a Thumb On Tuesday, February 23, 2016, I performed a finger routine exam on the right thumb with indirect supervision with Vinton technologist Maria Davis. This was performed at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa. I used Phillips equipment in CR form. The patient (67 years old) came in with right thumb pain saying she got it caught in something that Sunday. The order said she was having distal interphalangeal joint pain, and I confirmed with her that area was the most painful.…

The activity where communication was central to the process was the building a bridge activity. Communication was a vital role that really helped/hindered goal attainment during the activity. A brief overview of the building a bridge activity is that as a group, we would use communication to help us build similar halves of a bridge once we divide into two groups within our original group, that are separated by a tarp. Communication helped us achieve the goal of having a similar bridge halves even though there was the obstacle of only being allowed to ask 3 questions to our other group during the building process. The first struggle within my group was that we were all talking over each other to get our opinions across which we quickly discovered…

As an emergency room nurse my mind is hard wired to treat patients as quickly as possible and have them vacate to an admissions bed or back home. The acute care environment can be so hectic that looking past a patient’s discharge instructions can easily be over looked. An emergency room nurse regardless of her or his acute care mindset still knows how to apply the nursing process to any plan of care at hand and it is no different to a plan of continuous care in a patient’s home. The key is sending home a plan formulated in conjunction with the input of the same medical professionals and support staff that took care of the patient in the first place. Nurses are no longer moving towards a care process of just following orders, yet as partners…

For this Artifact Creation Task, my group consisted of Martina, Tesha and Sara, sitting beside one another; we decided to form a group. After we were briefed on this task, it was extremely necessary for us to have a way that we could communicate with each other effectively and efficiently. After discovering each of us had a Facebook account, it was unanimous that a Facebook group chat was the best way to go. Throughout the task, the Facebook chat was significant in connecting us together especially at times where we were not all in the education tutorial, for days when we were not all present in the tutorial. The Facebook chat therefore kept everyone up to date and enabled everyone to be updated on ideas, thoughts and progress for the task.…

Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public. I was fascinated to learn about the elements in Art. I had always thought that art had no organization, guidance or system. I thought that people just painted or drew pretty much whatever they wanted with no apparent rules. The Visual Elements that Getlein mentions on chapter 4 consist of the following; line shape and mass, light, color, texture and pattern and last but not least; time and motion (Getlein, 2012). These elements are intrinsically woven in art!…

I was trying to take a more active role in our presentations, in exchange for taking a less active role in the idea formatting and report stages. Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
