Visual Concept Evaluation

The evaluation of an object without the visual concept can be difficult for some people, since they experience the internal process where frustration, anxiety and boredom are a barrier from concentration. The assignment that we did consisted in bringing to class an unfamiliar object in a bag so anyone could see it in order to describe the object in details without the visual concept. We exchange the object with someone else who did not know what the object was. My partner gave me her object inside her glasses case; so I decide to close my eyes and try to describe the case also as part of this assignment since I did not see it in details. After I received the object I put it under my desk and open the case. We had ten minutes to touch the object so I took my time. I started touching the case, it was hard. I thought it was made of plastic or synthetic leather because it was hard but soft at the same time. I touch it and try to find a scent, but it did not smell anything, it did not have any aroma. The case was about the size of my hand when I strength my fingers, about six inches approximate. The shape of the case was like a …show more content…
I still have three or two minutes, so I began to play with this tool. I was catching this object with both of my hands under the desk. Here is when I notice that it was a light tool because it weights it less than 3 grams (approximate 0.106 ounces) it was very light. The size was like my index finger approximate 6 centimeters length (2.36 inches). As I said before I open this object and just like the case it made a little sound like a ‘click’ when I open or close this object. I could not perceive any special smell, but it did smell like a normal cosmetic product. I fell frustrated because I could figure it out the color with just felling this object, however since I knew what is was and most of this product are same color I conclude it was

After reviewing all the evidence I have come to the conclusion that Matthew Maloy Murdered Robert Burlington. I have come to this conclusion using entomology and through the use of fingerprint, blood, tire track, and hair analysis. The fingerprint tests´ showed us that the only people who touched the bloody tire iron were Nicole Burlington and Matthew Maloy. Nicole Burlington is the spouse of the victim so her touching the item is reasonable but Matthew Maloy touching it is strange especially because we later learned Matthew Maloy shares the same blood type found on the tire iron meaning this was possibly the murder weapon.…

Upon receiving the unknown objects, physical properties, such as the color, shape, and density, played a part in guessing if they are or are not made of the same material. A measurable way to determine if they are made of the same material is to find the density of the objects. Density is an extensive property of physical properties…

3.1 The Founder Statue The Invisible Man's first confrontation with a historical narrative occurs in retrospect. As the protagonist, now living in self-imposed exile, attempts to recall his college days, his memories are blissful at first but come to a halt when, suddenly, “the spell breaks” (IM 35). His cognitive dissonance is triggered by two conflicting images of the Founder statue1 that invade his mind: [I]n my mind's eye I see the bronze statue of the college Founder, the cold Father symbol, his hands outstretched in the breathtaking gesture of lifting a veil that flutters in hard, metallic folds above the face of a kneeling slave; and I am standing puzzled, unable to decide whether the veil is really being lifted, or lowered more…

For the project, experimenters need to test how pressure affects the distance a football can travel. One hypothesis is that if pressure is added to the football, then the distance the ball projects will increase when distance is a function of pressure. The independent variable for this experiment is the amount of pressure that is in the football, and the dependent variable is the distance that the football proceeds according to pressure. Furthermore, for a control, one can inflate the football to NFL requirements, which is 13 psi (89.6 kPa), and observe how far the ball travels at the correct pressure for professional football games. Materials For the experiment, one needs access to certain materials and objects.…

Discussion There were four goals for Project 11: Identification, Properties, and Synthesis of an Unknown Ionic Compound. The first goal was to identify the unknown compound, the second goal was to determine the reactivity of the compound, the third goal was to determine the quantitative solubility of the compound in water, and the fourth goal was to find the percent yield of a product from a reaction involving the unknown compound. Determining the identity of the unknown compound was achieved by performing a variety of tests for the physical properties of the substance. Some of these properties, such as melting point and chemical structure, could be discovered by making a few immediate observations of the substance. The unknown compound…

Illusion and sensory context does not come from the sensory information sent by our optic nerves but how the brain processes the information and relates them through our past experiences. In July 2009, Beau Lotto talks about the importance of context in sensory information in Oxford, England. In this Etalk, Beau stresses that “the sensory information that falls into your eyes is meaningless” and our brain that makes sense to these information are always changing. The speaker demonstrates his claim by asking the audience to read series of words with missing letters. He explains that the brain associates the arrangement of the letters and patterns to our pre-existing knowledge of language.…

The first thing I would do in processing the crime scene is interview the first officer that arrived at the crime scene to establish a theory of the case. Second I would examine the crime scene to see if the theory of the case is substantiated by what I observed. During this time I would start identifying possible items of evidence, identifying entry and exit points and getting a general outline of the homicide scene. Third, I would take some pictures. Photographing the scene would allow me to record a pictorial view of what the scene looked like undisturbed and to record items that is possible evidence.…
