People say pictures are worth a thousand words, and I would definitely agree. A picture can tell a story without actually saying anything, and when I look at the picture I chose to write my visual analysis on, so many memories and emotions come to mind. At first glance, the picture just looks like an action shot of a volleyball player setting a ball to another volleyball plyer on the court, but when I look closely at, every detail brings back memories and emotions. To most people, the picture I chose to analyze would not mean anything of significant value, but to me and my team, it means more than any other picture taken during that season of volleyball at Riverside High School.

You can also see the anticipation in the right side hitter’s face, not knowing whether I was going to set her or the outside hitter. As for me, I am extremely focused as I set the ball for our hitter to attack. You can also see the outside hitter’s great form of her swinging her arms as she goes to attack the ball. To someone who does not play volleyball, her body position in this picture might seem strange or weird looking, but it is necessary for jumping high enough to get a good swing on the ball, which in this case, was crucial for getting over the other team’s …show more content…
The side of our stands you can see in the picture were stands from the other school, they started filling out when it was clear our team was going to beat them. The student section was going crazy and that made our team even more excited than we already were. Since you cannot see them in this picture, the fans from the other team that you can see, makes it obvious how upset the other team and their fans were. This was such a huge game for our high school and for theirs, so we would have been upset too. I wish this picture captured our student section because seeing the fans cheering and standing up in their seats would bring so much more intensity to the picture and would allow someone who was not at this game or on the team to realize the significance of this particular

Volleyball helped me to develop my leadership skills. During practices, I was a leader by helping people better their skills when I see them having a hard time. Volleyball has taught me how to receive and give constructive criticism. It is important to know how to do this because you do not want to put someone down when you are trying to help them, as well as being able to listen to others to help myself. During games, I was a leader because when the team was down I would try to cheer everyone up.…

Out-of-Class Speech Critique For my out of class speech critique, I went to listen to Josh Birnbaum talk about his experiences as photographer for Illinois’ wheelchair basketball team. In his speech, he talked about the struggles that the team faced on the way to reaching their goal of winning a college national championship. Furthermore, Josh documented the lives of the players and showed the audience the struggles they faced every day, but showed us how each of them overcame the obstacles. Additionally, he talked about the life long relationships he made with the player by going out with them and practically being a member of the team.…

Throughout my time at university, I have had the opportunity to be a member and captain of the Skidmore Women’s Tennis Team. My time spent on the team has been a rewarding and inimitable experience, allowing me to become a leader and mentor to my teammates as well as throughout the college. To explain more comprehensively my own personal characteristics that make me an excellent candidate for Queen’s Law, I wanted to give you a glimpse into a moment that I think exemplifies the qualities that you are looking for in a law student. Every muscle in my body ached as I bounced the ball at the baseline, a slow and deliberate bounce 1….…

After about 20 minutes of waiting, we got inside the concrete structure. We were directed into our section, smelling the savory sweets only found in stadium’s and filed into our seats. The stadium was massive and we were surrounded by OSU’s scarlet. On the other side of the stadium, Alabama fans were wearing deep crimson. Finally, the ball was kicked off by Alabama.…

Standing there on the street, I stood staring up to a hundred giant football players walking by me. As I held the rope that the football players walked through, I stretched out my hand to try and high five as many of them as I could. One… two…three…twenty-seven…twenty-eight…twenty-nine! Each one of them pranced by while the drum line marched them on to the beat of the fight song. Standing there looking up at the enormous football players, I avidly wondered what it would be like to walk through this crowd to go play at Highlander Stadium.…

All I could say in my speech was “the sprained fingers were well worth it”. Through my years of volleyball, I’ve learned that everything you manage to do always starts with a trial and error. My error was going through a sport not knowing how to comprehend the concept of the game. As we all know that once you keep going through that trial it will no longer be an error it will become a progression. If you follow the basic steps and techniques you will enhance and continue to develop and become better in a matter of…

The biggest part about this is sportsmanship. It is a big part because without sportsmanship, equality would have no meaning. When playing volleyball, you should always have a positive attitude. I believe that was the best I had ever seen our student section. The only rude thing the pep club did to me, was during a quarter when we ran out and do stunts and a cheer, they turned their backs on me. They were loud and very excited to be there. Every game since then has been just as excited and just as loud as that game, I like to tell myself that it was me that gave our school so much spirit. It took me six months to convince Jack to let me back into pep club for my sophomore year of high school.…

The student section looked pretty congested and I didn 't see the need to sit by a random person and make the entire row get up, so I sat a couple rows up from the student section in front of 3 amazing, loyal fans- Wanda, Beulah, and Larry- they have had their season tickets since Candace Parker came to Knoxville. They witnessed and were apart of some amazing years on Rocky Top- 2 National Championship seasons, crowds of 15-18,000 people, and got to watch the legend Pat Summitt coach. We 've developed a relationship outside of basketball games, Beulah will call me to ask me how my day was or to tell me the weather report, because she knows I don 't watch the news. I will forever be grateful for them and the stories the have told me.…

In high school, it can seem like the most important thing in life. I, fortunately, was involved in many other activities to fill up my time. I could not play volleyball my sophomore or junior year. This really upset me because I love the sport. While sitting on the side lines, I had a decision to make: sit here bitterly and wish I could be playing, feeling sorry for myself, or cheer my team on and try to be a positive impact on them.…
