A story. What is the definition of a story? Characterized as an account of imaginary or real people and events told for entertainment, this may be the legal definition of story. Nonetheless, there is so much more to it than just the physical words that are made up to define it. Similarly, this image may seem pretty self explanatory, however, when one digs below the surface of the original image, there is a deeper meaning, purpose, and point. Such as the color on the wolf and the trees in the surrounding background. It helps to establish a certain tone and mood throughout the work. By the use of repetition and patterns, any anomalies discovered throughout the piece are made obvious. Even the grass could be considered a pattern, due to the fact that it takes up a good majority of the surrounding …show more content…
All of the patterns and the anomalies build up to the moment of intensity, which is seen to be in the center of the photograph. There is a sense of serenity, but also weight in the way that the wolf and the woman are the only two living objects visible in the frame amongst tall ominous trees. Setting is a really key factor, in order to show the place in which the scene is taking place. It tells a story without saying a single word, one just needs to be able to inspect it further in order to notice

This picture is black and white of young boy called Flavio, feeding rice to his younger brother Zacarias. My first impression of Flavio’s archive was that it seemed to be a very sad story. This photo shows the horrors of poverty and Flavio’s strength to survive, and even the courage to accept death without even thinking about himself but of his brothers and sisters. I did some research and found out that Flavio is a 12-year-old boy who has the huge responsibility of being an adult. He is able to accept this responsibility while still remaining vibrant and hopeful even though Flavio is suffering from a physical illness, poverty, overwork and worry.…

This allegory was written after WW2 and Golding imagined an aerial based war because all the civilians have been evacuated off the land. The author implies that there would be a potential survivor from the airplane to likely make contact with the children on the island. Personification is used when “the trees of the forest sighed, then roared.”…

Artists Gustave Caillebotte and Clide Hassam are rewound painters who spent their careers depicting scenes of everyday life in various levels of impressionism. Combined, the two provide for an excellent comparison of how specific techniques used for their works elicit different emotions and interpretations.
