Art is so diverse; I knew I would have difficulty choosing a work of art to write about when assigned to write an art analysis paper on one piece of artwork from a nearby museum or the art gallery at my school, California State University Northridge. However, after looking at several artworks I realized that the one that stood out the most to be was a photograph by John Divola titled I Hate You.

John Divola’s I Hate You is apparently more Dionyasion than Apollonian. The reason for this is because the scene within the photograph displays one of the most problematic and negative emotions that humanity could possibly feel, hate. Hate among humanity has been the reason for many problems in the human race whether it is warfare or social instability. This photograph sends more of a social message, rather than a political one. The social message is that hate can be displayed in any place and anywhere.
