Bulldozers are often contributed to collapsed buildings, demolition, and destruction. Many of the images conjured up in our imaginations will represent the negative impact that bulldozers can be responsible for. The image from the advertisement in Global Issues, Local Arguments on page 262, created by the group called Californian’s for Population Stabilization, shows an image of a bulldozer surrounded by toppled trees in a lush, green forest with a heading directly above it that reads, “One of America’s Best Selling Vehicles.” Below the image is a clarification of the significance of the bulldozer and an explanation describing how California’s landscape is being taken over by its steadily increasing population.
