Visual Analysis Drawing

Artists thrive by experimenting and I will do the same from the beginning of the design experiment. It is important to first identify the type of pencil or crayon I would like to lead with. Drawings will appear more elegant with soft and exploratory lines. Using a variety of hard and soft lines is necessary in order to provide suitable detail, foreground and shadows among other essential aspects. A multi-layered approach requires me to layer colors in order to produce greater depth of color and range of tones. Color can be blocked in effectively by my application of pencil strokes in the same direction. I can prepare my drawing surface of choice by coloring it with colored wax crayons and then applying a top layer of washing liquid mixed with paint. I will then be able to draw on the surface by scraping the surface with a sharp tool. Oily pastels will allow me to overlay colors therefore creating new colors and vibrant textural effects. I will complement the illustration at this point by using paint to mix and match colors for specific purposes. For instance, illustrations involving images of people should have appropriate skin tones. I will work with different paint consistencies to produce a variety of effects. Materials such as copper threads and sawdust will complement the finish and add a three dimensional aspect to the design. In addition, it will provide richer and more diverse imagery for my design experiment. …show more content…
Linen paper is an effective medium to achieve this but I intend to also practice on unexpected media such as metal, stone and wood surfaces because they bring with them their own textures, colors and irregularities. Tracing paper and textured paper are two other materials which will allow me to enhance imagery and detail of lines, circles and any other shapes to be involved in the

Students’ created a critter using different animal body parts; the Wallas model provides a useful template for completing this task. The model consists of four stages: “preparation, incubation, illumination and verification” (Dinham, 2014, p. 34). All four stages have been explored in the creating of the critter. Preparation, by brainstorming the different types of animal body parts; incubation, by the way these different body parts have been joined to create and number of different critters; illumination, by making the choice of the most appropriate critter to use in the final art piece; and lastly verification: by completing the final design, adding the background and colour, and putting the black ink wash over the entire page.…

    Bundled Line Drawing

    • 180 Words

The first image I chose was my last bundled line drawing. Since there is a lack of precision when drawing with three bundled pencils, larger objects seemed to look more refined than smaller ones. The bird lighthouse also has a lot more shading than the other bundled line drawings I did. The second work I included was the drawing of the chair background. This drawing helped illustrate that sometimes it is easier to examine the shapes of the background than shapes of the foreground.…

The image shown was taken not long after a devastating tornado. It depicts a young woman embracing a Red Cross volunteer. The text on the Red Cross Disaster Relief vest is intentionally visible in the photograph. The massive amount of destruction in the frame allows the viewer to get a glimpse of how much damage a tornado can cause. Conversely, the grief stricken young woman being comforted by the volunteer is the main focus of the shot.…

When comparing the percent errors, you can clearly see from the summary table that the graphical analysis is closer to the mathematical analysis, meaning that it is closer to accurate than the experimental analysis. In the third problem the magnitude of the measured result was way off from the magnitude calculated in the mathematical analysis. Therefore, the more accurate method of adding and subtracting vectors is the graphical analysis when you cannot use the mathematical method.…

Like the trapeze artist, our leap of faith comes in three distinct phases: letting go, waiting, and being caught. Christians are not people who never doubt. They are simply people who are willing to let go of anything that keeps them from God, who wait for their doubt to one day be transformed into knowing, and who trust that they will ultimately be caught by God. If we do not believe in, wait for, and trust in Jesus, who or what will we be waiting for and trusting…

    The Wolf And The Crane

For this experiment, I interviewed a six year old female named Destiny. For the first assessment we read Aesop’s The Wolf & the Crane, where the wolf tricks the crane into helping him in promises of a reward and then informs her that her reward was letting her live after helping him. I asked Destiny what she thought the story meant (what they were trying to say) and she responded with a concrete operational response such as “the wolf lied to the crane because he didn’t give her a reward like he said he would”. She did not make any further indication of the morals that were beyond the story without an explanation from me.…

Perler beads are not very well known. They are colorful beads that are melted together to create many different objects from bowls, jewelry and portraits to keychains and phone cases. As a kid, I was given a set of perler beads with pegboards shaped like dogs, cats and fish. I never knew the range of possibilities that perler beads could be used for and how much could be made with them. For my senior portfolio art show, I needed invitations and rediscovered perler beads and now I constantly make them for fun and sometimes as gifts.…

A story. What is the definition of a story? Characterized as an account of imaginary or real people and events told for entertainment, this may be the legal definition of story. Nonetheless, there is so much more to it than just the physical words that are made up to define it. Similarly, this image may seem pretty self explanatory, however, when one digs below the surface of the original image, there is a deeper meaning, purpose, and point.…

I think that the elements we focused more on in this project were Value, Color, and Line. We were required to do a lot of shading which meant putting different values in different places to create the illusion of shadow. We used soft pastels to color, and we had to make many lines to form the objects depicted in the Still Life. As for the principles of Art, I believe we mostly focused on Proportion, Contrast, and Unity. We had to match the proportion of the objects to the ones in the smaller picture, and some contrast had to be made with the background and the foreground, and the entire drawing had to show Unity.…

    Art Class Analysis

Art class was honestly harder than I thought. I had originally thought that joining an art class for the summer was supposed to be a fun, laid back experience that was supposed to help students who liked art explore their skills and find their strengths and weaknesses in a non-judgemental environment. Instead what I got were 9-14 year olds that scared me because of how tall they were and their skills. Like seriously, they were really talented. Not only that, but I wasn't used to the different medias, such as graphite drawings, pastels, acrylic paint, and carving.…
