Vista Saws Case Study

I finally got around to talk with Maria and Anthony on improving their efficiency when operating the Vista saws. I was able to grab a few suggestions from each of them. First suggestion, Both individuals feel comfortable operating the saw by themselves but could use another person to help stack when business is busy. Second suggestion, Maria would like to have her own radio. This would allow her to call in lumber whenever she needs it, instead of tracking down a supervisor to make the call. Third suggestion, Anthony needs to find a more efficient way to get lumber to his saw. He needs to eliminate the waiting time between unit cuts. This could improve by creating more space for the fork lift drivers to stock the lumber or by giving Anthony
