Sheikh Muhammed vision for Dubai was for it to become the best at everything, he worked on every aspect that was beneficiary for the country from real estate, business hub, retail and tourism. He was a goal oriented leader who would set a clear goal and put all his efforts to ensure best results. His strategic vision of Dubai concerned its economy, tourism, retail, service and business center. A promise was made for Dubai to be a better place to live for its citizens and that was delivered. The strategy used to plan Dubai transformation was taking into consideration the long term results, forecasting and predicting future uncertainties was a major aspect. In 1979, Jebel Ali port was created to be the biggest man-made harbor and the main port in the Middle East. The ports allowed Dubai to not only base its revenues on oil but also successful trades with Europe, Middle East and South Africa. This emphasized on the culture that was encouraged by Dubai rulers to be more open to the west and foreigners than the Arab countries around it. After Sheikh Mohammed was put in charge of the administration of the Dubai International airport, he developed the airport from a 6000 foot long sand runway to be the refueling destination for international airlines from Asia to Europe. In aim to be the best at everything and in peruse of competitive advantage Dubai airport was open 24/7 at the time that all other airports would close at night hours. He didn’t stop at this success; his determination to connect Dubai to the world drove him to establish Emirates airlines which nowadays connect Dubai to 150 different destinations. This was clearly reflected by the creation of artificial islands to expand the area of Dubai, for this to be done he dedicated a team to research and investigates this opportunity and acquired tons of sand and rock to be built. On the expanded land massive projects were built to match the uniqueness of these islands most of these projects were luxurious villas, hotels residential towers and extraordinary skyscrapers. Burj Al Arab was an example of Sheikh Mohammed’s goal of creating iconic buildings; it was built on island that took three years to be built only to hold on of the wo rld’s most luxurious hotels. Dubai’s real estate was one of the major tourists’ attractions to Dubai, people from all around the world come to Dubai to experience the world’s tallest, most prestigious and only 7 star hotel, Burj Khalifa. Innovation was highly encouraged and targeted in all Dubai projects, this showed in Burj Khalifa hotel since it was connected to the world’s largest shopping mall that had indoor ski resort. With its rapid remarkable projects, Dubai linked its name to Luxurious living, Damac Properties one of its lead developers tagline is “Live the Luxury”, this increased the rich residents therefore increased the consumption and revenues.
