When we look at LA Metro we notice a very lack luster mission that doesn’t provide much clarity and is very generalized; “continuous improvement of an efficient and effective transportation system”. Whereas, when look at the TTC’s mission, the manage to effectively bring different aspects of the organization (e.g customer service, safety, etc.) to focus on their transportation service. The TTC’s vision is also well thought out because it identifies where they want to be in the future and can be quantified by analyzing customer satisfaction. The LA Metro’s vision on the other hand is poorly written because it doesn’t state where they want to be but where they are now, vision statements are meant to be future-based and to give direction for the employees (QUOTE5). Similar to TTC, the Hong Kong MTR focuses on bringing various aspects of the organization to create a strong mission statement. The MTR also creates an obtainable goal on their mission statement that incorporates different aspects of the business with a focus on customer service. TTC also has a well-documented mission and vision statement that focuses on similar ideas as the Hong Kong MTR and the TTC should look up to the MTR for ideas and knowledge on growing into the future
