A STUDY ON RHEOLOGICALBEHAVIOR OF BLOOD:
AN ALTERNATIVE APPROACH DR. PUSHPA CHAKRAPANI Dept of Physics,Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open university Hyderabad,Telangana State,India

ABSTRACT: The study of hemorheology has become an important field in biomedical research. Blood is a complex substance and it performs various functions in the human body. The blood viscosity plays an important role which affects the flow of blood.

It is a specialized part of fluid mechanics and is concerned primarily with non-Newtonian substances like Blood. Blood is a vital fluid found in human beings and other animals. It contains many chemical compounds to perform various functions. Healthy blood varies in viscosity as it flows normally and becomes much “thinner” by the time it reaches the capillaries.
From a hemorheological point of view, fluids can be divided into two main groups
(1) Newtonian fluids, (2) Non-Newtonian

Because high blood viscosity always leads to a slow down of circulation and reduces oxygenation of tissues. Therefore variations in the viscosity of blood definitely, have the adverse effects on the human beings.

Written Summary of Self-propelled particles that transport cargo through flowing blood and halt hemorrhage In the summer of 2005 my uncle punctured his femoral artery while on a biking trip. He was biking around a corner at a high speed and crashed over a fallen tree on the road. He landed on a piece of broken glass which cut through his thigh and perforated his femoral artery. Although bystanders wrapped his leg in gauze he bled out on the scene waiting for an ambulance to arrive.…

Viscosity describes the friction of a moving liquid. A liquid with high viscosity resists motion due to the fact its molecular composition gives it a lot of friction inside. A fluid with lower viscosity flows with ease because its molecular composition has very little friction when it is flowing. In between the molecules of the substance there are intermolecular forces which have an influence…

Medium-Velocity Blood spatter is where moderate force is applied from objects which can cause pooled blood to scatter in multiple directions surrounding the contact (Gaensslen, Harris, & Lee, 2008, pg. 89). “High-velocity blood spatter is the where extreme force acting on the blood source (Gaensslen, Harris, & Lee, 2008, pg. 89)." Blood Spatter is used in crime scenes to help in multiple ways. One way that that blood spatter can help is to help identify the object used based on the pattern of the spatter.…

The importance of tightly regulating plasma volume is to see how much water can a person excrete, and how the total amount of blood volume has a direct effect on plasma osmolarity. As a result, plasma volume has a direct effect on the blood pressure. Basically, when the blood contains low amount of water, it can result in decrease in plasma volume, and increases in serum osmolality which led to blood having increased viscosity (Evans 1. et al. 1506).…

Measurement of Reaction Time According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, reaction time is the time elapsing between the beginning of the application of a stimulus and the beginning of an organism's reaction to it. In the lab that was conducted, the reaction time of the muscular and nervous system was tested. In the muscular system, specific thenar muscles such as the adductor pollicis brevis, abductor pollicis, opponens pollicis, and the interosseous were involved and tested to cause opposition of the thumb.…
