Incorporating a moral theory into one’s life is a useful tool for recognizing how to act; however, an unclear moral theory is about as useful as a law no one follows. In this paper, I will discuss why Virtue Ethics is not a plausible moral theory because it does not lend real nor unique guidance. I will first present background information regarding the view under discussion, then present an argument illustrating a large flaw in Virtue Ethics, offer a possible objection to this argument, and finally, refute this objection with a counterargument.
