Virtual Work Routine

Improved Essays
My routine for completing virtual work varies. Either I do work wednesday night, do the work thursday morning, or procrastinate and start working a couple hours before the work is due. I take virtual work seriously, and accordingly try to start early so I can put my best work forward. Something that I will do sometimes is work on the day’s assignment all day taking long breaks in between when the times when I am actually focusing and working hard. I will have started and done the bulk of the work in the morning, yet still be stressed trying to finish up the work and turn it in on time. When I am focusing and working, I don’t often get interrupted or take breaks. I do big chunks of work at a time, and will often finish the work in one long sitting. I always work by myself and don’t get help from family and friends. I find …show more content…
I really enjoyed learning about the cleanses. The instructions given are always clear, but I struggle when there is a link to a website that doesn’t work, or something requires a plugin I don’t have on my computer. It is helpful how you provide alternatives to needing the plugins in some cases. Like I pointed out earlier, my favorite assignment from last quarter was to learn about cleanses. I got really into it. I learn well by moving quickly. I don’t do as well when we have to read a really long article or watch a lengthy video. I like moving quickly from one thing to the next and pulling all the information that I can from one website before moving on to another. I’m excited about the classes we have this quarter because I feel like they are classes that most high schools have, but I didn’t think we would ever get to them. I think it’s better to learn sex ed at home than in class because it will be less awkward and people won’t be giggling every five seconds. I want to know some things about home education like how to cook, etc. I’m happy about the teacher and I have no real critiques or

Dear Global Teacher Prize Academy Committee, I am very pleased to recommend Dr. Katherine Heavers for the Global Teacher Prize. I was a 12th grade student in her class from 2014 to 2015. The course was called Human Anatomy and Physiology, but that name does not do everything she taught me justice. In her classes, she sets aside five to ten minutes for students in one of the most competitive N.J. schools to relax with yoga techniques. Reinvigorated, students listen to a quote from Dr. Heavers and relax for a minute of peace, possibly the only minute of silence besides sleeping that the students get all day.…

The week 6 assignment, was so much fun choosing a topic of my liking. I was not constricted to a specific topic and gave me the freedom of reading through different articles on the importance of Healthcare Informatics. The week 7, was like a cooling platform at the end of the course. The instructor was very caring and understanding that we were slightly overloaded and eliminated the number of assignments and test, giving us more time to focus on research based tasks. In the last journal entry, I gave a suggestion about the assignment submission dates creating confusion.…

In the article, “Multitasking Can Make You Lose ... Um ... Focus,” Alina Tugend claims that instead of multi-tasking we can learn to stick with single-tasking. Personal Narrative rough draft : Car accident It was early in April of 2016, sunny and beautiful, the day was sure to be full of excitement and energy as student council speeches are due and the final trimester of the year was slowly coming to an end. I woke up that morning to my mother blissfully waking me up with my light turning on and her sweet beautiful voice saying “Wake up, Joey,” I slowly rolled out of bed and stumbled into the shower trying hopelessly to escape the morning and the horrible sensations of waking up early on a Wednesday. As the warm water rushed over me I rehearsed in my head how I would present my student council speech to my teacher. Little did I know how different it would actually be that day.…

This required following directions, collaboration, completion of the challenge, and critical thinking skills.…

After health class I got to resource room where I did a lot of my work. I usually don't do any work in resource room because I'm always on my phone, but this time I put my phone away. (one of my goals being to distance myself from anything I would want to use while doing my work, aka my phone) saving the rest of the work for later, I decided to use the time management sheet that was handed out in class. I wrote down most of the work due for the week and when I would do it. once I got home, I used my phone, had some free time and then around 4:00 I started my work.…

My life began to spiral downward before fifth grade began. I found myself an endless loop over summer vacation of waking up, experiencing the day as a blur, sleep, then repeat. This drove me to discover a new way to spend my day. On the television I noticed a recurring advertisement for a game called ‘World of Warcraft’. At first I instilled the mindset that I could spend my time pragmatically but eventually I succumbed to boredom.…

I am in my first module of the dental hygiene program at Fortis Institute. This essay will look at my experience in the dental clinic with what I have learned from the observation, how the experience has changed my view of the program, if the experience enhanced or diminished my interest in the field, what fears I have moving forward and what I feel more confident about after the observation. To begin with, I have learned a decent amount from the observation in clinic, but I am only going to hit some major points that I found most important. As I walked into clinic I noticed that the clinic was as spotless as can be;…

My Motivation: What motivates me the most to pursue a college degree is that I will be the first person in my family to receive one. My grandmother is the backbone behind this motivation because she was always making sure that academics came first in my life. There was rarely a day that I would come home and she would not ask me questions about my homework, asking what I learned in school, or even looked over my homework. As I got older, she made sure I was a part of a college prep program called AVID from 6th-12th grade and that definitely made a difference for me. It helped me understand the importance of continuing your education and how beneficial it can be to succeeding in life.…
