The construction of the Basilica began in1882, by the city’s famous son Antoni Gaudí. Because of its massive size and intricate design the church has become so important; it is called “The Cathedral”. I can’t wait to climb to the top of one of the Basilica 's eight towers and overlook the city. The Basilica is expected to be completed in 2026-2028. We’ll enjoy a guided tour of the city, to include Poble Espanyol, a Spanish village, which also served as a sport facility during the 1992 Olympic Games, Olympic Port, the beach and fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta, the Port Vell, and Plaza de Colon. Drive up Montjuïc Mountains and take a cable car ride with an aerial view of Barcelona. Head back to Barcelona and walk the famous Ramblas Boulevard of Barcelona, a pedestrian mall full of shops and restaurants. Take a train ride to Montserrat Mountains, tour a Spanish Village and taste liquors of Monterrat. Another stop on our tour is the Gothic Quarter, the heart of the old city of Barcelona. There is a mixture of historic buildings and modern bars. And an evening walks on the beach with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea. We’ll see an authentic flamenco show and dinner at Tablao Flamenco Cordobes. Enjoy a passionate performance with music, singing, and spontaneous dancing as we dine on local cuisine.
