People gain an online degree to get a better job, in the same time, more and more employers claim a traditional degree and online degree are treated equally when they make offers. But is this really the truth? Despite the ostensible image of online education is splendid, it still causes doubt from both employer and educational field. The Grossman and Johnson (2016) surveyed the data of offers from companies when they study the employer perceptions of online degree. They selected the Big 4 accounting firms (PricewaterhouseCoopers, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler), smaller CPA firms, and some private industry to make a statistical analysis. Based on the probability specimen, the result indicates that employers prefer to offer a job to person who obtain a degree in a traditional education environment instead of the online way.
