Virologist Career Research Paper

There are many careers or occupations that require the knowledge and use of genetics. Among these are virologists and pharmacologists.
A virologist is a person who studies virology, which is “the study of virus and virus-like agents, including (but not limited to) their taxonomy, disease-producing properties, cultivation and genetics” (Mestrovic, 2015, para. 1). I could say that a day in the life of a virologist would start in his/her office, which is the laboratory, where he/she would perform tests and studies on different viruses that infect or affect not only humans but also animals and plants. The virologist will be surrounded with different instruments and equipment, as well as their main subjects, viruses. I believe that it requires a lot of patience, as well as systematic organizational skills because it takes time to conduct the tests and requires organizational skills in writing the data. I think that a virologist and a pharmacologist would interact with each other for the purpose of finding the cure for certain diseases.
