The personal mission statement that I developed is, to find happiness, fulfillment, and value in life, there for I, Virgil Dugo, will leader a life centered on the principles of integrity, honesty and respect. I will remember what is important to life such as doing what is right, showing mercy and acting with respect towards all people. I will recognize my strengths and develop talents as a person who is committed, driven and filled with ambition. I will humble myself by acknowledging that I can be stubborn, reserved and impersonal. I envision myself becoming a person who is dedicated, hardworking, empathetic and inspiring. Through my role as an RA/CM I can make my vision a reality by speaking with my residents to get to know them on a personal level. I want them to feel like that can come to me about any issues they are having and I want to be a resource for their success. Because I was able to identify some weaknesses in my personality, I can be mindful of them when I interact with residents and respond to situations. Since I am aware of my weaknesses, I work to improve those areas of my personality that need improvement. Also, since I know where some of my strengths lie, I can rely on my strengths and use them to my advantage. Since I am a new RA, I will be working with a staff that I just met a few weeks ago.
