This is completely true, but this essay is about the people who are affected by violent video games like Grand Theft Auto, and how it can affect the mind of someone. After my experience with playing Grand Theft Auto, I could not believe the amount of younger kids that play the game. When I say younger kids I don’t mean seventeen and below, I am talking around twelve and below. The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry wrote an article on younger kids playing violent video games called “Video Games and Children,” in this article they had an interesting statement, “Studies of children exposed to violent media have shown that they may become numb to violence, imitate the violence, and show more aggressive behavior. Younger children and those with emotional, behavioral or learning problems may be more influenced by violent images.”…

Video Games Do Not Make the Player More Violent Violent video games do not affect people in negative ways. Recently many people have been doing tests to see if video games are making people, mainly teenagers, act out in more violent ways. When video games affect one’s behavior, it is called “priming”. Although video games have become more violent over the years, video games do not make teenagers act out more cruelty because data collected from tests show no change, some psychologists believe it actually reduces poor decisions, and today almost all young males are playing video games yet they are not all acting out. Several tests have been done to see if brutal content in video games affect the player negatively, but no data has been found…

While playing the game, kids have the time of their life enjoying all the graphic content the game provides. Although violent videogames do expose adolescents to graphic content, that does not mean the viewer will become violent themselves. Videogames should not be the scapegoat for when teen violence occurs. The problem that people are facing is that they are making quick assumptions that since teens are exposed to videogames then they are going to be shooters. In the article, “Violent Video Games Do Not Cause Aggression”, David Kushner explains, “If no one has said there’s a causal link between games and real-life violence, why does it keep making headlines, and why do these get cited so much?”…

The goal of the research essay was to provide evidence and support that Video games do not cause behavior problems and may act as an outlet for aggression.. The reason why I chose this topic because it was a topic that had several documented articles, articles with a vast amount of information regarding video games and children. Furthermore, another reason to why I chose to write about violence in video games, is that it has been a topic that has caused high controversy, and contention in Congress. Although this may seem like a bad idea to pick a topic with high controversy, because it allows for false information to be easily accessed, I was still able to carefully pick the right and trust worthy articles; this will be further described in the next paragraph. Last but not least, the reason to why I chose this topic, was due to the fact that it provided statistical information.…

Video Games Do Not Cause Violent Behavior Over the years there have been several incidents that have stirred up the emotions of people, parents and especially investigators.
