Violence Of Poverty Analysis

One of the important points that I have had broken down for me in the film to understanding poverty was definitely that people in poverty do try to get back on their feet, but continuingly get shut down. I think this point is important because a lot of people say if you do not have the american dream, then you need to work harder or stop being lazy. However, in the video after John was laid off he continued on doing small jobs for the banks and then that decreased to nothing. After the banks were no longer doing well, he continued on and got an education major, but that got him nowhere because of the lack of positions. I believe that this helped me clarify that people do try to get out of poverty, and they do work harder in order to stay afloat, but they continually get pushed down. …show more content…
