Eminem’s music was usually about murder, drugs, violence and anger. Some of Eminem’s songs consist of killing his wife, killing the president and being the abuser in a violent relationship. In 2010, Eminem released the song “Love The Way You Lie”, featuring Rhianna which has a superficial narrative of an abusive relationship. The lyrics go through the cycle of domestic violence. According to, “The Cycle of Domestic Violence”, domestic violence has three parts. The first part is the tension building phase. In this phase, tension builds over an amount of time and verbal abuse usually takes place at this time. Tension can build over money, children, living arrangements or jobs. Once the relationship hits a boiling point, the physical abuse usually begins. Once the physical abuse begins the next phase occurs which is the acute battering episode. This may or may not be caused by the victim. Once the physical abuse occurs this leads the couples to the honeymoon phase.
