Violations In George Orwell's 'Animal Farm'

Comrades, we are gathered here today to discuss the recent rule violations, specifically commandment 7 which states “all animals are created equal”. We have let things pass but when we allow someone to control whether or not we eat, sleep, or speak, we lose the one thing we’ve worked so hard to achieve, that is, freedom. We took part in the rebellion to gain independence. An animal would be free from humans and live in bliss. However, lately, it seems as though our rights have been blurred and our voices have been muffled. We are not equal anymore, some topple above others with more privileges while the others resemble servants. We are not better off as we were before, our rights have been limited and if not fought for, they will never be …show more content…
Jones owned us. I’ve witnessed dreadful things, abuse, violence, death, all a result of human actions. Humans were seen as more powerful, they had the advantages and they were the source of our suffering. Jones constantly made hens lay eggs, eggs which were later sold. When the rebellion finally came we were ecstatic because finally, freedom prevailed and all animals lived in harmony. No longer did we have to suffer or end beautiful lives. However, history repeats itself and the days spent leaping in excitement became scarce. Now, Napoleon is resembling Jones, tyrannizing over his own kind. He ordered us to lay 400 eggs and stand aside while he sells them to humans. A burden which is only to be endured by hens. The supremacy which occurred and favored humans now takes a form in our animal farm where pigs are seen as the higher up.
I don’t want us to be equal in a way that forces you to give up your children to benefit man. I want us to be equal, in a way where no one has to go through the pain of murdering their young. Many lives full of potential have been ended before they’ve ever seen light or they are seen as meaningless because their only purpose is to be consumed by

The animals buy into his false explanation, because the last thing they want is Jones’s return, and fail to see the lack of fairness in their situation. The pigs twist Old Major’s form of Animalism with the intent to exploit the system, despite still preaching his old ideals to the believing animals, insisting that any revisions would allow Jones to…

Sparked by a recent activist “action” against animal cruelty, Freelance writer Jo smith agrees with the direct actions that led to the liberation of hundreds of chickens from cages within his opinionated editorial “chickens range free”. Published in June, 2009, Smith, who among being a journalist, is a member of the “Australians for Animals Rights” committee, which dictates as the foundation of his main arguments and personal contentions. His overall view encrypted within his emotive, yet formal persuasive piece is that animals, although unable to communicate it, do endure the cruelty enforced by “poor farmers”, hip-pocket- conscious Australians and the general selfish nature of the human race. Smith targets not only other animal activists, but the broad population of Australian`s who are oblivious to the treatment of the most “abused animals on the face of the Earth”.…

The lines of how our human government is run is connected in the similar way Animal Farm does for its government. As it was spoken from one of the farmers “If you have your lower animals” he said “we have our lower classes!” (126), points out to the reader that the humans are no different compared to pigs in this world. Both man and pig contain the same desire to control their laboring classes so they will still be able to maintain their place in power. This also applies to the laboring class in the human world when compared to the lower class of animals.…

Salami Tell You About Steiner “Animal, Vegetable, Miserable” is an op-ed guest column published in the New York Times in 2009, written by Gary Steiner. Steiner is a philosophy professor at Bucknell University who has published other animal rights books including Anthropocentrism and Its Discontents and Animals and the Moral Community. He attempts to open the minds of the readers to learn about their “normal” behavior. Things such as eating meat, going to zoos, or even enjoying circuses are what Steiner wants people to reconsider for their own behavior. Steiner states, “We should reevaluate the ideas we have inherited from Western philosophy that human animals are morally superior to non-humans” (“Gary Steiner”).…

Critical Summary of “Sustainabilitarianism and Eating Beef” This case study deals with the contents of Chapter one {animal welfarism} in the text Environmental Ethics for Canadians edited by Dr. Byron Williston. In this case study, Williston forces readers to think critically about the meat-economy that exists and if it can be justified, morally and sustainably. Peter Singer, A crucial thinker in the realm of Animal Welfarism, claims that “grounding claim of intrinsic value based on any set of special properties is a form of speciesism” (29). In his article titled All Animals are Equal, Singer debates the way we treat animals during their life span while in these “industrial feedlots” (49) is unjust.…

It is not what people say that defines them, rather it is what people do. Proclaimed sayings and words can only do so much to show a point of view. Ultimately, in society, the importance lies in how a person does something––not about the reasonings and the declarations. Inward principles do not impact other people nearly as much as outward practices. Hence, the importance of prioritizing the doing of one thing over the other.…

Ever been the leader of something and started taking advantage of it? This is one of the questions people would ask after reading George Orwell’s Animal farm. The book displays class conflicts and showing how some classes are more equal than other ones. This book was an allegory to the Soviet Union and the allies during World War II. People can see the well known leaders and allies in some of the characters.…

In the story Animal Farm the animals have their rights kind of taken away, but the way its done is under their noses. The pigs write a new law that says "all animals are free some are just more free". After Old Major dies the new generation of pigs Napoleon and Snowball fight for Old Majors place. The animals didn't really say anything about their rights being taken away because of ignorance. In the poem the man is sitting idly by while these peoples rights are taken away because his rights are not being taken at first.…

When corruption is happening in a community most of people are unaware, even though it might be obvious for outsiders. The marvelous book Animal Farm by George Orwell depicts this wonderfully. One of the main themes in Animal Farm is that if the citizens are not always aware of what is happening, this can lead to corruption and can overtake a better society. The animals in Animal Farm are naive.…

The animals feel the awful pain in their lives because of their owner, Mr. Jones. The pigs were able to seize power because they had more intelligence than any other animal and Old Major’s speech helped the pigs take over. Then, towards the end of the book, the pigs started to talk to the neighboring farm and they changed Animal Farm back into Manor Farm. The pigs, also, started to grow legs and become more human like. I feel like the quote “all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others” is saying that while everyone is being treated like they wanted to be treated, they aren’t being treated the same because all of the pigs were getting the better education, or the better food. The pigs were always treated better than the other animals because the pigs talked about wanting the apples, but they would only want the apples if they had tasted them before, showing that Jones and his men more than likely fed the pigs apples while they were being mistreated.…

An Animal's Place All beings are aware of animal slaughter for food purposes. One may either look away with guilt and still consume meat knowing in fact the process within animal slaughter, or on the crontary, not consume meat at all. Michael Pollan makes several points throughout his journal from “ The New York Times Magazine”, in which he advocates the idea of equality, factory farming, and humane farming. Within his several points, he arrives to a conclusion in which he proclaims that animals’ rights may still be honored during the preparation of the slaughtering of an animal. Equality is one point Pollan shares with his readers, stating that there is not much equality among animals themselves.…

The first passage is at page 84-85. It is when Benjamin and Clover go to the barn to read the seven commandments, but when they got to the barn it had no longer had the seven commandments because the pigs have been changing it, but know one has noticed because most of them could not even read. But now it reads “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others page 85”. I think that when the animals started to read it, that was the moment that they finally started to realize that the pigs might not be the good animals they thought they were. I also think this shows how much the pigs really manipulated the other animals.…
