Viola Desmond was born on July 6th, 1914. She was born in our amazing country, Canada. Her family lived in Nova Scotia. She lived in a small town in Halifax. She was originally born to the name Viola Irene Davis which was her maiden name.

Viola Desmond’s parents were named James Albert and Gwendain Irene Davis. A important fact about viola was that her mother was “white” and she married a “black” man which, at the time was unheard of at the time. She had 9 other brothers and sisters not including herself. She had 6 sister and 3 brothers. Viola demand married a lovely man named Jack Desmond. When she married him she became Viola Desmond. Sadly she had no children.
