“The Castle” maybe isn't a great enough performance for those professional directors(I learned this from their commons after performing), nonetheless personally , this is a wonderful and impressive performance for me which sharing life stories of four individual people who used to live with drug, murdering and prison. Fortunately, all those negative things did not stop them to find a life they truly wanted.
On the other hand, it is a great performance because they had tied four different stories into one story with one clear timeline. The advantage is that you don’t feel they are dumped into a totally different story when they passing their term because they were having same cadence.

Mentally, the majority around him/her made him/her feel like that smoking is the norm which is not true. For example, Vilma Ortiz Donovan, she used to be a bartender who always dealing with drug, alcohol, etc. She becomes part of criminal acts without realizing that. Perhaps, she was willing to take the chance with the laws. Actually, she was looking for somebody’s love to her, at that time, her behavior was led by the desire of love.
Certainly, I was so moved when Vilma Ortiz Donovan mentioned her mother told her “I am proud of you.” ( VOZ speech) and I learned how language could be so powerful when people needs acclaim and approbation.
As a result, TJ was the first name that I remember, his full name is Thomas Jones, and he stated: “Not a judgment of who you were, but a judgment of who you are.” In my point of view, this brings the whole performance into climax, because it was true.
