An example of this is in the scene when the Joker decides to jump off the catwalk in the chemical plant to avoid Batman. After getting out of the chemical waste, the Joker takes off his helmet and shows a stare of insanity while laughing menacingly. The composition of this panel removes the words from the text bubble, helping readers understand how maniacal the Jokers laugh becomes. By placing text all around the background, the author is able to help the readers follow the transformation from an ordinary man to an insane one. Another example of text composition lies within the scene where Batman chases the Joker throughout the park. While Batman chases the Joker, dialogue squares repeat a text that was said by Batman at the beginning of the picture novel. Instead of using circular text bubbles the author uses squares to show that the text that is being shown is not currently being said by Batman. The words are being shown are being used to describe the events that are happening while the Joker is being chased in the amusement park.
