A wide amount of people worldwide think that Vikings were selfish and violent but do they have the right to judge. Do people to have the right to judge different type of people in everyday lives. Vikings are no different to anyone else why should we treat them differently. On the Viking raids they did fit their stereotypical reputation, however should people judge them.

Their ships were so easy to control they barely got lost. “The Vikings built fast ships for raiding and war ”. Their ships were known as dragon ships because of the dragon heads on their front of the ships. Their ships created fear in people because of the dragon and because of how big the ships were. Using their ships, the Vikings did discover land and marked places on a map and modern day discoverers have found the maps with Viking writing. “The Vikings had many travels and many fortunes” .The maps they had found show that they were the first to discover America 500 years before Columbus in 1942.Christopher Columbus got most of the fame for it though. In the 1960s two Norwegians discovered a Viking base camp at Lsanse aux meadows on the northern tip of Newfoundland. The first people to find the camp boasted that they had found 3 Viking halls, as well as an assortment of huts for weaving, iron working, and ship repair. The camp was based at the time around 989 and 1020 AD. The Vikings travelled to lots of other places as well as America on their raids, and when they were trading. On one of their travels they found England and attacked it, taking over half of the country. After these attacks, England united together and fought the Vikings.
