Views on Heaven and Hell
According to Christian theology, multiple views of heaven and hell have been explored. Some suggest a metaphorical approach, as others present a more literal perspective of what the Bible says. It is very clear throughout Scripture that there are exclusively two destinations dependent on our faith in God. Knowledge regarding what comes after our earthly lives is essential, so we will be more capable to share with others. God has a well thought out plan for our eternity and encourages us to explore what he has told us in His word. The first outlook on Hell proposes a very literal take on what is written in the Bible. 2 Maccabees 12:41-46, which is part of the Catholic doctrine, states the opportunity for the dead to find forgiveness of their sin. He developed this opinion by the verse in Matthew that claims that if one is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, they will never be forgiven of this trespass. Hayes argues, in that case, there must be sins with which we are excused. Purgatory is not an accepted belief in protestant religions. This is mainly due to the fact that Christians only acknowledge the original scriptures, a doctrine called “Sola Scriptora” (Bible alone), and anything added on later is not held at the same …show more content…
No longer will the lions chase after their prey, in fact, the Bible even states that the lamb and wolves will feed together! This is a picture of God’s love of unity, provided that God will live with us and there will be an end to all pain. Suffering is a massive part of the human existence, and God promises to remove that from us as soon as we enter his presence! God speaks of the wiping away of our tears, as He sympathizes with our aches and He will remove them from us as we abide with Him for eternity. In addition, there are two very important Bible verses God has laid out for us about heaven. The first is, John 14:2-3 (NIV), "There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am." The second is 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV) “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love
