Growing up, my parents always tried to put my health over themselves. Unfortunately, they grew up as immigrants from Vietnam and came to America with nothing. Growing up with no parents, they learned how to fend for themselves. With the help of other Vietnamese immigrants within the community, they supported one another in order to survive. Without the help of the others, my parents would not be able to be where they are today. I believe that everyone is equal, no matter his or her background. Without the help and support from one another, we simply cannot thrive. I believe that I have a debt to my fellow men and women because without the help of the Vietnamese immigrant community or anyone that helped them, I would not be privileged with
