The Vietnam War is a violent and drastic war that is highly frowned upon. The United States is losing many lives and much confidence from this event. Some still question whether getting involved is a smart decision or a severe mistake. This war is lasting for roughly 20 years and has such a great impact on America. The U.S. wants to protect Southern Vietnam from being under a communist government which escalated to a war with Vietnam and many lives from both countries being lost. The U.S. should not get involved in the Vietnam War because many veterans lives are being lost which is leading to unnecessary protests and America can not fight communism all over the world. For instance, “They are not a free people, and we cannot fight communism all over the world, and I think we should have learned that lesson by now....” (Document G) This statement from John Kerry states America cannot solve communism. Maybe the U.S. could prevent communism in Vietnam but it is not worth getting involved in a war. The world will never reach world peace if nations are getting in fights so often. War is not a practical solution to a peaceful world. This situation is very frightening because if America was to continue fighting countries to prevent communism, there would be great risks to failure.
