If you have ever played a video game you know that they consume large amounts of time as you become involved in the world your character is a part of. A person pretty much becomes the character as they fight cops and or wastelanders they discover that things they do affect the game play. For instance if you play your character as a good person saving people and doing things that affect you karma or good guy meter the game will become easier people will help you and give you things but if you are bad it makes the game harder people that would help you try to kill you. This type of game play has become increasingly popular and it can help people understand that their actions have consequences good or bad. Like in GTA you shoot someone most likely the cops will find and kill you. This realization could be used in the real world do god things people are nice, do bad things life is not going to be so easy. Cunningham and colleagues found that for a 1% increase in the sale of violent video games, the incidence of crime decreased by 0.03%. Findings from Markey and colleagues also suggest that violent video gaming is associated with a decline in criminality.” (Fournis, Abou, (2014) pg 1) Video games are acting like a babysitter for all ages it keeps people occupied for hours and creates it where they don’t have free time that they cause trouble and harm. “However, during this same time period violent crime has decreased. In 1978, the homicide rate in the United States was at 9.0 homicides per 100,000 people, but this rate dropped dramatically to 4.7 homicides per 100,000 people in 2011.” (Markey, P. M., Markey, C. N., & French, 2014, pg 5) With
