Video games have been in the crosshairs for over 30 years now because people and scientist think that videogames are to blame for people 's rash decisions for committing violent crimes such as murders, mass shootings, bombings and or Auto theft. They even have a legal charge for stealing cars, and it 's called Grand theft auto believer it or not. That is also a name of a popular video games that is know for theft and killing. Studies have been made over the past 30 years but none of them seem to prove that they are linked to to causing people to commit violent crimes. There happen to be more compelling facts about the other side of the argument.

This source has many pros such as that some studies show that video games are linked to violence and depression, but they don 't have very reliable facts. The cons are more correct. A series of studies have been done to see if video games are good for the brain. They trained gamers that had little to no previous experience of playing action games, giving them 50 hours to play. After the practice they found that the gamers actually performed better than they did before on perceptual tasks such as pattern skills etc. The enhanced learning of the regularity and structure of environments may act as a core mechanism by which action video game play influences performance in perception, attention, and cognition. (Griffiths 7). This is saying that video games improve your perception, attention, and cognition. Which is totally opposite from being violent. Violence is in the eye of the beholder, meaning that the game itself is not the problem, it’s the person playing the game. Although people who commit crimes have played video games doesn 't mean that they are linked. Studies have been done over the past 30 years or so, and they have not found a link from violent crimes and video games.
