According The Denver Post, children had the privilege of playing video games after school or watching movies are more likely to have a failing grade (Mitchell, 2005) . It is not that the child is not smart because they play video games and watch movies all day; it 's the mere fact that they did not spend the same amount of time on their academics. It is vital that adults monitor the amount of time that children spend on video games and movies if they have hopes of alleviating the issue. In sequence, it is also important that the adults or guardians have a clear understanding as to why their children spends so much time on video games. They could be having issues at school such as being bullied or bullying someone not feeling like they have a family structure. A good solution to this issue, is to have an open discussion as to why they played video games. One may find that they simply enjoy playing video games and watching movies as a way of entertainment, which is acceptable. It is important that parents encourage the children to go outside and play. Children who partake in video games and watching movies are constantly gaining a tremendous amount of weight and they are also losing a tremendous amount of weight. They are so consumed by the games that they do not take the time to have a balanced meal that is healthy or they are over eating junk food because they are sitting down the entire time that they are playing video games and watching movies.
