Many great inventions have been invented and one of the greatest developments in modern technology has been the invention of video games. Therefore, video games are instrumental to many people in this day and age. Most people, especially parents, overlook the benefits of gaming such as how it can improve our social life and helps in cognitive development of teenagers when they are at a tender age. However, too much gaming can lead to addiction causing possible problems such as truancy from classes, behavioural problems or poor grades.

Therefore, gamers should play brain teasing game often to slow down their aging process. They can kill two birds with one stone since gaming not only can preclude them from contract aging-associated diseases but also prevent them from being too idle. If they are too idle, they may commit crime to spend their precious time, as an old saying goes, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop”. Then, they will be arrested and behind bars to atone for their wrongdoings. Furthermore, gaming can also instil motivation among gamers by encouraging them to face and overcome obstacles in their daily life. For instance, when one is playing adventure games, they are required to determine the best route to take in order to win the game. As the adventure games’ level of difficulty will rise considerably after completing an objective or an order given, gamers will face problems to complete a new and harder task. Thus, gamers need to have patience, endurance and persistence until they finish all the tasks in the games. This situation can be applied by gamers in the reality since they need patience, endurance and persistence in facing and overcoming predicaments when they are in troubled waters. Video game addiction may cause adolescents and children more likely to have difficulty making friends or are less socially active. According to the results shown by Rehbein and Baier’s research, “Children who are more socially isolated or who face problems in school or at home may use video games as a way of regaining control over their lives” (Vitelli, 2013); this finding report has influenced many parents’ hindsight on video games. As a result, video game addiction has often been blamed on parental neglect in the past. Children that depend on video games to live have the same reasons as other people who depend on other problem behaviours such as gambling, drugs, smoking and so on to live. Escaping the fact in our lives by doing things that seem pleasurable or simpler to understand can be a potent lure for people in need and forget unpleasant memories, whether you are a child or an adult. When it comes to problems in socializing that might make gamers, especially vulnerable to video game addiction, various devastating consequences may occur. For instance, the most common factors are truancy from classes, behavioral problems or problems at school.
