There are some stereotypes seen where women are portrayed and seen in a starring role of sexual fantasies of which there is mainly a male audience. As stated by Lester and Faigley “ Almost all teenage boys play video games, but only about half of girls do so, and so no wonder parents worry about the effect of video games on consumers’ sex and gender attitudes” (Lester and Faigley, 2015, p. 562). In many video game’s men and women have traditional roles, the men being the adventurers and the women being used as the victim or sex object. Being a gamer is not a cheap hobby, to play a game many different items are needed, starting with a gaming console, the game disc itself, gaming controllers, and any accessories that may be needed if playing an online game in which the gamers talk back and forth. Jon Henshaw mentioned that “It 's not uncommon for a gamer to have 50-100 games that cost $40-$50 each. They also often have at least 2 different game consoles and 1 high-end PC. This can easily add up to thousands of dollars a year to maintain a typical gamer 's habits” (Henshaw, 2000). While considering the cost of gaming, this may take a toll on relationships.
