Video Game Violence has been a controversial topic for many years. With the new technology and more modern games such Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty played a big role in most children’s lives as they started to think and act more aggressively. Innocent children lie on the floor, dead. Their harmless lives taken like the others in the countless school shootings that have recently occurred in the United States. Encouraged by violent media and trained by realistic video games, the violent killers have taken many lives. In these shootings, the dangerous effects of violent media plastered everywhere is evident.

Those who played violent video games more often have pro violent attitude towards everything that is going on around them. In addition, players will most likely have bad social skills, and struggle making friends in the community. These gamers are basically trained through video gaming. After shooting at targets in bloody shooter games for hours, innocent children will be equipped with the skills of trained killers. In fact, the simulators used by the US Army are simply modified game consoles (Grossman 74). Without friends and a social life, youths will revert more to video games. If there is somebody that a gamer holds a grudge against, life might end up becoming a video game for him or her. “They will kill every living thing until they run out of bullets” (Grossman 75). Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Connecticut caused by violent teen video game (Woodham 1). My school was fifteen minutes away from Sandy Hook, once we heard the news the school was on lockdown for the rest of the day, but knowing that one of my teacher’s kid was going Sandy Hook just added more worries to everyone.
