Many people have some sort of gaming consoles in there home today. In the 1960’s many homes in Americans had put forward money for televisions and needed something to do besides watch tv and many people wondered if they could find something else to do. Have you ever wondered who invented the gaming system and why? Gaming systems actually are a huge part of today's world. Video games and video game consoles have changed a lot from the graphics to technology put in to build a gaming console.

In 1998 Bill Gates co-workers had finally convinced him that Microsoft would enter the war of gaming consoles in which Sony and Nintendo were leading in (“A Brief History of the Xbox”). The Microsoft company along with Bill Gates had decided that they were going to create a console that worked kind of like a computer. The Microsoft team decided to show the world there Xbox in 2000 (“A Brief History of the Xbox”). It took a total of 2 years to show their new console to the world. This new Xbox had very many new features and all of the latest technology then.
One of the latest Xbox is much different than it was the very first Xbox. The Xbox One is one of the latest Xbox released. The Xbox one was released on November 22, 2013 (Johnson). The Xbox comes with many new features. “Plus, it improves on its predecessor with a faster processor, more memory, better graphics, very quick switching between applications and a newfound ability to multitask” (“Johnson”). This new Xbox has all of the latest technology back in 2013 and still is being updated today.
The history of the gaming consoles has changed very much from the Magnavox Odyssey to the Xbox 1. The next time you sit down to play a video think of how far gaming consoles have come and
