What Is Wrong With A Video Game Career?
I get extremely aggravated when mom will not let me attempt becoming a professional player. We have had many heated arguments discussing me becoming a professional League of Legends Player. We go back and forth but it’s like she never listens to my reasoning. My mom thinks that everything I say about becoming a professional player is just a sign of addiction to playing League of Legends. If my mom would take time to listen to the reasons to why I should attempt becoming a professional player, then she would see how stubborn she has been.
Every Friday for the past couple months, I’ve been trying to convince my mom to let me try being a professional League of Legends player. But when I bring up one reason,

Mom asks this question as if she actually considered allowing me to play video games for a living. Yes, I am good enough to become a professional League of Legends player if I am able to dedicate more time into the game. Most professional League of Legends players are either twenty or twenty-one years old. These players have been playing League of Legends ever since the game came out. I am a sixteen year old who has not even been playing League of Legends for a year. This gives me at least four years to develop more skill at League of Legends to be able to compete with other professional players. There is a ranking system in League of Legends if you play ranked matches. The ranks are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Challenger. Challenger is the highest rank, and is where professional/capable of being professional players are ranked. And Bronze is the lowest rank, where the bad/new players tend to be. As I mentioned before, I have not been playing for a year and I am ranked in the Gold division. Over the next four years, I can unlock more items to assist me with my gameplay, and develop my skill into a Challenger typed player. When it comes to playing League of Legends, quickness and smarts are everything. The standard League of Legends match is five players against five players. League of Legends allows you to select one of 133 champions when playing a match. And while playing in the match, you choose up to six items to assist your champion in battle. The variety of champions makes you learn what champions are best to play against your opponent. And the variety of item combinations allow you to best counter/play aggressive against your enemy. And the quickness aspect to League of Legends, you must make decisions/dodge enemy abilities quickly to win the match. The professional League of Legends players’ reaction times are around .150 seconds. My quickest recorded reaction is .104 seconds, while averaging around a .220 reaction time.

1.1 Positive Parental Involvement Recently, speculation of the role and expectations associated with being a good sports parent have been identified with a clear pattern of positive and negative themes emerging. Parents set the course of a young persons life, primarily because they provide ample opportunities and sources of information- exerting significant influence (Coakley, 1992, cited in Cahill and Pearl, 1993). Although all parents display a broad spectrum of involvement within sports, studies have supported the notion that positive parental involvement outwardly relates to positive predictors of enjoyment, participation and continued membership. However, what appears to be of great significance is that this may not be directly related…

A strong example is shown in youth sports and how parents often want their son /daughter to be some kind of superstar like LeBron James or Lindsey Vonn. It’s clear that parents are becoming more and more involved in their children’s athletic events. Parents are even forcing their children into playing sports they might not have pictured themselves involved in otherwise. Whether the kid likes the sport or not, should parents really be making the decision for him/her?…
