1. Before watching this Ted Talk video, I did think I was a some what, decent listener. I believed this because during conversations, I always liked to truly understand what the other person is trying to communicate to me before I answer back or giving a reply -- which led me to believing I was a good listener. After watching it, I realized, and also am surprised, that my listening skills do need some revamping because I know I do not ever take some time to sit in silence and would never think this is a way to better your listening skills. I believe my listening skills impact my communication skills because many times I focus too much on how a message is being sent (tone) vs. what the message being sent is trying to communicate.
