Everyone has a dream in their life, such as playing a professional sport, writing a book, or becoming a news anchor. Everyone is chasing after it and they will do anything they can to accomplish it. You are probably thinking about your dream right now. That is what this screen adaptation of Victor Salva’s “Peaceful Warrior” conveys in an exciting, sad, and inspiring kind of way. The story is about a young gymnast Dan Millman (Scott Mechlowicz) and his struggle to make sense of his life in which he is successful but still unfulfilled. By chance he meets his "Yoda"/Shaolin priest/Boss Paul (Nick Nolte) who helps him "get his head straight" after which he goes on to be comfortable with his athletic prowess albeit not exactly Olympic caliber.
