I have been interested in the veterinary profession since a very young age. I am a very motivated individual, liking to challenge myself I believe that the role will challenge me. The career would be extremely rewarding I believe. I have had an interest for science for a long time now and I have always had a love for animals and the welfare. Putting this together I think this is the ideal job for me as I'd be doing something I have had a passion for for most of my life.
I have always had a strong passion for animals. I began horse riding from 5 years of age and I haven't looked back ever since. I am myself when I am around animals. My Year 10 work experience was a week at the stables which included looking after the horses in different forms such as cleaning, exercising and caring for. I also did 19 months of volunteering there every Saturday before this helping to not only look after the horses but also the

Helping them to learn to ride was such an experience, seeing them grow into good riders. This experience definitely helped to improve working as a team and my communication skills, making me into the person I am today.
As another part of my work experience I completed a 10 week course at Blackpool Zoo, Zoo Keeper Academy, which moved from small insects to large mammals. It was a mixture of both theory and practical tasks so not only did we get to handle the animals but we got to learn about their habitats, diets, body structures and behaviours. I also have spent several weeks on a farm, mostly during lambing season where I was taught how to identify when a ewe is going into labour and help deliver lambs that needed help. I also helped look after a lamb as it wouldn't take milk
