Ever since I was a little girl, animals fascinated me. What kindled that love for animals was the continuous trips to the zoo. Every January 1st of the year, my family and I would rouse early in the morning and start getting ready to kick off the year learning about different types of animals. I still feel a jolt of excitement when observing the flamingos, Bengal tigers, giraffes, and more animals from all around the world. I would spend all day at the zoo if my family lets me. Therefore, growing older and entering my teen years, my mind was set on one career: Veterinarian. In 7th grade, I fashioned a business plan for a grooming shop combined with a veterinarian practice. Within high school, I stockpiled my curriculum with various sciences I could select. Hence, I took chemistry, biology, anatomy, and physics. I thoroughly adored all these classes and each career test I would take would declare that I would work happily and shine in any field with medicine. Therefore, it was time to volunteer at a clinic to comprehend that this was my calling. I did not need any type of affirmation that being a veterinarian is what I wanted, but I wanted to consider how I would feel in the field with someone who has been doing it for years. I then volunteered at Arch Creek Animal Clinic in my junior year of high school. Now without a doubt in my mind, this was the field for me. Preparing vaccinations, packaging medications, restraining the animals, and being present during surgeries lit a fire in my soul for what I would be expecting to do in the future. In all the time that I have been in school, I have pushed myself to do more than is necessary and that with hard work comes success.
