In an industry that routinely retains clients for extended time periods, the survey information indicates an opportunity for veterinarians to utilize communication skills by forward booking clients and designed preventive health care plans. Pet owners have busy schedules and approximately 60% said they would make an advanced appointment for their pet if the veterinarian and staff communicated a valid reason. This desire speaks to a common mentality shift that equates human physician checkups (for the owners) and veterinarian checkups and routine maintenance for the pets (XXXXX).
