My main goal in life is to further my education after high school. I have applied to several universities and been accepted to all. This is to achieve my lifelong goal of becoming a veterinarian, specifically a mixed practice veterinarian. A mixed practice veterinarian can practice with any animal as long as they have training for it. I knew this from a young age when I would go to my local veterinarian and see them as a vital part of the community. The reason I want to be a veterinarian is because I have always liked the sciences like Biology and Chemistry and how they can explain why events occur and how they do. I have wanted to be a veterinarian since I was a child. This is why I have worked to be able to be accepted into a Pre-Veterinary Program. …show more content…
This has affected my short- and long-term goals to be able to accomplish my dream of becoming a veterinarian. Currently, I am in the stage of short-term goals of graduating high school, choosing my college to attend, and competing for scholarships like I am right now. I am applying for these scholarships, so that I can afford to go to college and work to not have extreme amounts of college debt. My first step to becoming a veterinarian is to enroll in a university in pursuit of getting a bachelor's degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. I achieved this by having a 4.170 GPA in high school and doing a multitude of services projects and activities through being a member of the National Honor Society, Marching Band, and Teen Court. The next step after being accepted into college and choosing a university is to gain experience with animals as well as experience under the supervision of a vet. I will achieve this by working at shelters as well as being part of the FFA for animal welfare. I will also be looking into interning with a zoo to gain experience as a veterinarian.
