A veteran is typically considered a person who has served a time in military or had a role of service during a wartime. This person would be only qualified a veteran if he was discharged/released under honorable conditions meaning he/she followed rules effectively. A veteran could be coming from three different department that are subordinate to Department of Defense (Pryce, 2012). The fist one is the Army, the second is the Navy and third is the Air Force. Many of the services they need are associated with meals, housing, physical and mental health and a lot of them need empowerment support because they can come back depressed. Often times veterans are in need for treatment for posttraumatic stress but a lot of times they wont seek it because of stigma and shame. Also another service they are in need of is housing and independent living. We as community need to make sure that each eligible veteran is able to live independently and participate in community and family which means also to help them increase their potential to return to work …show more content…
They deserve as much as we all do but often times are rejected because maybe they cannot function 100% correctly or cannot carry out all jobs. They need to be able to have more training available for them and we need to address, educate, coordinate, and provide employment, income, and support for all our veterans who are coming back. Re-employment rights are the rights that would help protect the disabled veterans meaning that the employer needs to make reasonable efforts to accommodate the disability of the veteran and if he has injury from their service or
